So, I definitely consider /out/ my homeboard, but being a wannabe shitty photography I travel to /p/ quite often. They have a practice there that I think this board could benefit from, honestly.

They've always got one giant active gear thread where everyone openly discusses all gear. To make a thread about gear is pretty frowned upon there since there's already a medium for it. The point is to keep the discussions about the photos and critiquing and not just a grab-bag of repeated gear threads... kind of like we have.

We've got a pretty good gear thread started here that's been up for a few days:

I know the mods won't do shit, but everytime someone starts a thread about knives, or a coat, or other shit like that, we could just link them to the latest gear thread. It'd keep the front page more open for shit like stories and lessons and what-not.
