hi, not sure if this fits better in here or /trv/, but i have not been solo camping before and covid lockdown in Los Angeles has been brutal and making me wish i lived somewhere with more nature. But until i can move, I wanted to go for a quick 1 or 2 day getaway and camp in my car, but every time ive camped it was with family or friends that brought all the equipment or RV to sleep in. my car is large enough for me to sleep in the back comfortably, it's not a 4WD but its powerful enough, are there any places around me i'm allowed to just drive off the path a bit and sleep in my parked car without getting some kind of park permit or sleeping next to a bunch of RVs? sorry if this is a dumb question, complete noob on this, i really just want to get an hour or two away from the city and sleep in my car and stargaze for a night or two and have some peace and quiet away from other people, that's literally it. thanks!
