Hi /out/!

This is a cross-post from /trv/ as i believe it might be even more relevant here. I'm wondering how many people here have experience hiking and backcountry camping in south america, without a car?

I don't have a driver's license (30's but never needed it, biked everywhere, 1 guess as to where i come from) so i need to be able to get to trails by some form of public transport.

The countries i want to visit and hike in most, are ecuador, peru, chile and argentina. Does anybody have any tips and tricks, or know any good national parks that are easily accessible?
