I have recently become a millionaire due to cryptocurrency. I'm sick of the world and I want to start a totally self sufficient homestead (rabbits, chickens, greenhouses for food). I have so many questions about this that it's overwhelming - even buying land seems monumentally confusing (I've never even owned a house before).

I'd also like to legally - in America - generate as much electricity on my property as possible. I'd be using this not just to power my house, but to power machines that are mining more cryptocurrency. I think hydro is generally illegal (I've heard maybe you could use pond rainwater overflow for hydro legally - is this true?). What about geothermal? Solar?

I want to be out of the cities, but I want to still have high speed internet if possible (considering streaming some of the experience). Fiber is probably out, but surely there are areas where I can get everything I want and still have cable?

This is a little bit rambling, I know, but: what would you do if you were in my position, /out/? What would your first steps be? Where would you buy land? How would you go about it?
