>>2072080>rockyif youre climing over rocks you'll probably want boots with heel type soles, not wedge soles. here's an illustrated diagram as to why that is.
>full of puddlesfirstly, goretex "waterproof" boots are NOT waterproof, they don't dry out quickly either. spongy mesh goretex, which is almost always used on the inside of the boot as lining, is the worst, because it literally absorbs water like a sponge. you may find that boots with virtually no water resistance, but which dry out quickly, are preferrable to goretex boots which offer minimal water resistance, but take days to dry. the only truly waterproof boots are wellies and muck boots, but they tend to be uncomfortable to wear over long periods of time, and trap in moisture - which might be a concern if you have sweaty feet. a good pair of leather boots treated with beeswax will repel water, are more breathable than rubber boots, and become more comfortable as you wear them - just make sure the lining isn't goretex sponge mesh shit. if youre considering buying military boots, i would warn you that the "surplus" market is an asbolute minefield, and heavy, deep research is required before making any purchase. 2/3 of footwear repros suck whether they're from a reputable company or not, and genuine items are usually overpriced.
at the end of the day, youre probably going to succumb to peer pressure and buy mid height tactical sneaker boots from saloman or merrel, because a herd of subhuman beast of burden GOYIM cattle, brainwashed by BIG BOOT, told you that's what you're supposed to buy - and if that's the case, i'll recommend the merell moab adventure 2s. i had a pair for 3 years and they held up okish.
