So many remote pubs and heaps of random interesting shit hidden out in the desert. I've seen hot springs, a tree full of bras, fucking oasises, caves, all sorts of cool shit driving around the outback.
And the pubs. So many iconic, legendary, historic pubs. You could be 1000km from the nearest settlement, come across a pub on a highway and it'll be packed full of travelers, farmers and truckies.
There's one that sits on the corner of 3 states that all have different timezones, so you can celebrate New Year's (or your birthday) 3 times in an hour.
Not to mention you can camp literally anywhere you want. Just pull up on the side of a good bit of highway and you're set to go.
