>>2022758>>What was your last trip?An overnighter in the French alps, before bad weather washed away some roads and then the snow came.
>>What is going to be your next trip?An overnighter in the French alps, as soon as lockdown lifts and I've bought a new car. I hope I can try winter camping.
>>Bucket list shitI want to do the Continental Divide Trail in a couple of years. Seems pretty hardcore though. A week or two in the alps, the Haute Route or the GR20 would be cool to start with.
>>Thru hiking vs Section hikingI've only ever done 1- and 2-night trips since I started backpacking. Thru or section hiking, both are fine, but it seems cooler to hike an entire trail in one go. If it's about the view and visiting the places, I'm basically slowly section hiking my neck of the alps and I see nothing wrong with that.
>>Gear Suggestions?I've bothered /out/ for years with questions about a warm mid-layer for my legs in winter, which was fucking hard to find here in Yurop. Well, I found some - a Swedish company called Woolpower. Their "400 Long Johns" are made to be worn as a mid layer, on top of a base layer but under your shell pants. It's exactly what I looked for.
>>Gear you're in the market for? After scoring a puffy jacket on sale this summer, and said Long Johns, I'm pretty set. Maybe a water filter instead of my tablets, and a larger backpack with outer pockets so I can store a week worth of food (I have a 48L alpinist pack).
>>Being Bear AwareNo bears here.
