Never been there but as a Jacksonville native I recommend Tree Hill, the Arboretum, and Tomahawk Park for short little walks in more nature than most parks have in the city and the conservation areas like Black Creek Ravine, Bayard, and Jennings State Forest for little weekend 1-2 nighters

I haven't. I go out for the 3-4 hours the walk takes most sundays, though. So I'll start asking any solo hippies I see "Are you Moe?" Next time I go I'ma bring a few tons of gravel and fix that spot on the orange trail that turns into a lake.

for the short time that I lived in Florida I bought a cheap kayak and camped on the small islands near siesta key, was neat as fuck. gives you something to do during your downtime as well, fishing and exploring the surrounding islands makes you feel like an explorer.

Alright so I went to Jennings and stopped at the first little picnic area. Took like a two mile hike and then planned to drive to the next spot and scout out the camping. Then five fire trucks, a couple ambulances and a buncha police cars blocked all the roads. So I think Jennings mighta lit on fire while I was walking out there, today.
