The problem with saying recycling is bad is the ECONOMICALLY VIABLE part.
Think about what that part means.
For instance there are (were?) gold mines that are closed because they're not economically viable.
Then the price of gold goes up and they become viable again so they re-open them.
In the future it might be very viable to dig up landfills full of plastic to re-use it. Especially if those landfills were sorted beforehand so like one area is all PET and one area is all... I don't know the names of other kinds of plastic.
But here is the other part. China. If China didn't make it so fucking cheap to buy new plastic would recycling still not be viable?
I bet if not for China and gay carbon tax bs we'd probably have factories recycling this stuff in our countries and we would pollute a fraction of the amount of chinks that give zero fucks.
