Camping pillows are also a comfort and not necessarily, but they are better than a rolled up sweater or coat, and weigh little. If your shaving weight okay fine, but if your not doing a hard hike, it's comfy.
Trekking poles are safer for downhill, useful crossing streams, and very important if you've fucked your knees or back. Ex military crunchies' joints are totally fucked and absolutely need braces and poles.
You can do a lot with a hatchet if your not a retard. If you want to bushcraft a saw, hatchet, and knife are all extremely nice to have. Kindling is a bitch to find compared to just cutting a tree and splitting it into small stuff.
People are more of a threat than bears, and cougars and wolves exist. Guns, even pistols are so fucking heavy though.
Rope (ideally paracord) for bear hang, or hanging a tarp up.
