I made these last winter. They last for about 15 minutes.
>get a staff sized-stick
>split one end about 8” in
>split same end again
>you should have a crude fork
>use wedges to hold open tongs
>insert fresh pinecone
>harvest sap and pitch from trees
>many trees already have broken limbs
>dry sap is fine
>heat sap over fire in tin can
>wait till sap melts, organic matter starts burning
>pour sap onto pine cone
>tension and sap holds pinecone
>lights easily
