Should i stow my stuff that does not tolerate water (like socks and food) in a trash garbage black plastic bag inside my backpack? Or should i just pack em in separate zipbags?

I go with the trashbag approach, it keeps everything simple and one place, you don't have to search so much for things. Pull the bag out and then find what you need, roll it up and put it back. Also a separate trash bag for dirty stuff. Sometimes I color code as well - white trash bag(s) for clothes and black trash bag for actual trash that's being thrown away. You don't want to mix them up and accidentally toss a soup can or something into your clothes bag

Trash bags work fine. Just make sure you don't store anything damp in them. Your dirty clothes should never go in a trash bag even if they don't appear that humid from your sweat/air mosture or they may rot.

Trash compactor bags are like 5 mil thickness and are a similar shape to a backpack. Stuff it into your pack as a liner then stuff everything else into the bag. Your pack will get wet but everything inside the liner will be dry.

Food should be in its own waterproof bag so it can be stored outside of your tent (hung up, if possible).

I use dry sacks for clothes and my sleeping bag.

Trash bags are okay but they're more difficult to compress the air out of.

I'm flattered anon, I use a trash bag on the inside of my pack, but I wrap my toilet paper and phone in zip locks just in case.

That was a lighthouse in Frankfort Michigan, one of my favorite places.
Haven't done anything much except day hikes since summer sadly.

Manistee river trail loop is a beautiful and easy hike for beginners. Huron national forest has a lot of trails that are decently maintained. Pictured rocks is also a great place to hike but requires more prep but is still good for beginners because it is very well maintained and it's impossible to get lost.

They are bags used for trash compactors I believe. As for the difference, they are thicker and are more sturdier then you run of the mill garbage bag.
