>>2050440damn, sounds like a really close encounter, anon! The way it ran without a sound and was never seen again makes me understand why in the past people used to believe them critters was some sort of forest spirits appearing in the shape of animals.
>>2037960As for me, I was never really in any sort of spooky danger while being properly innawoods, though I did see some foxes on multiple occasions. Most of them I just saw zoom by, there were some open fields nearby where they usually snack on some mice. This one time though I was hiking off trail and i suddenly felt watched, i looked around and i saw a little fox kit looking at me with its big buttony eyes. It started walking towards me, but i quickly walked the other direction cause i don't know if maybe momma was nearby and rabid or whatever, better to leave wildlife be on its own.
This other time I saw a wild hog in the distance. It hadn't noticed me so I jut walked back the way I came from.
One time I sprained my ankle and limped my way back home. Was kinda spoopy cause it was getting dark and I felt vulnerable, but there's nothing bigger than a wild ho in that forest.
As a side note, I saw way more urban foxes ever since I moved to the city than I ever did wild ones. Them fuckers alwaysd ig through our trash
so i have to wake up early on the days the trash guys pick it up so it's not just there on our doorstep for the whole night where foxes can snag them.
