Water /water with a lemon drop in the bottom if I'm feeling like a mad lad

Crawdad fettuccine alfredo (lol ramen) w/ sun dried tomatoes

Cold soaked cous cous w/ viena sausage or kippers, add avocado if I haven't already devoured them 1 hour into trip

Dried fruit, dense white bread, hard cheese, soft cheese, cured meats, peanut butter. Square of dark chocolate to finish

Water (whiskey once I settle down for the night kek)

Dinner is always the best meal (breakfast, you're a little tired and cold, and want to eat quickly to make the most of the daylight - lunch you have to stop your rhythm, and each minute spent on a break makes it harder to get back into walking mode)
Dinner, you can spend as long as you like (both cooking and eating), and get to chill by a comfy fire
>Where (what environment you want to enjoy meal) in a small clearing in the woods, sat on a log, warm fire lighting the nearest trees up against the darkness, stars overhead, general sense of peace, quiet, and comfiness

Water. On a very hot day, pickle juice. On a cold day, coffee.

A lovely breakfast, enjoying the smells and warmth of food in my belly and a crackling fire while watching the sun rise. Second best, eating a warm bowl of stew/chili while the glow of the fire is the only light around.

Conifer forest in the mountains is the best, followed by the Texas hill country in second place, and the open desert in third.

What kind of whiskey, Anon? I'm partial to Scotch myself (Johnnie Walker Gold Label or Black Label), but like me a good glass of Buffalo Trace bourbon. I recently discovered Japanese whisky, Suntory Toki specifically, and I love it. It's got everything I like about Scotch, minus the smokiness, and everything I like about bourbon minus the sickeningly sweet taste some brands have, and none of the downsides of either.

I like to bring along a small flask and sip just enough to generate that feeling of warmth in my belly before I relax for the evening. Few things complement a fire in the woods and a warm sleeping bag like a good whiskey.
