So... you take the coffin and throw it at some asshole and then beat him to death with axe handles.
We had, (in the long past now), someone get pulled from a site because his "family" (you get assigned a family that gets paid by the peace corps to just keep tabs on you. If you disappear, the peace corps wants to know), was involved in an incident where some old dude had a kid that *probably* had sickle cell anemia and died from it. The old guy went mad with grief and said it was some other family in the village. He blocked the door and set fire to the roof and killed everyone. I don't know which side of that exchange was the PCVs village family, but that was the end of that post.
Superstition is a bitch, man. To lighten this up a little, my closest PCV neighbor was known for being kind of awful to the locals, but this gem of a conversation came out of it: She was talking to some taxi driver or something and he mentioned a witch doctor or something. She said witch doctors are full of shit and if they aren't, why don't you curse me? and he said "Juju doesn't work on white people... Poison does though." I enjoyed that exchange.
