But the "mountains or noticeable hills" of Texas are in no way limited to the far western Trans-Pecos region. The Balcones Canyonlands, Llano uplift, Edwards Plateau, Palo Pinto Mountains, isolated Double Mountains, Palo Duro Canyon, Caprock Canyon, and Lower Pecos Canyonlands offer elevations tall enough to be lethal and visually impressive.
