I first saw one in a county fair when I was a teenager -- at least it was basically one, a tine little cabin on a trailer. I have wanted one to haul out into the woods ever since, and anchor near a well, and have a little septic system or something, to retire.

You got the idea. I was going to take this older dodge motorhome out on some land - dig trenches for the tires drive it for the final time so it would be grounded and live there off the grid. build a little onto it skirt over the wheels, wood stove. think, solar, stream warer, big ass garden. See I see it as a pre made cabin already built. Mabe even a real roof? put a shed nevt to it fro chain saw and shit and there it is. what do you think?

A waste of money.

Get yourself a conventional camper, which will provide more room
for less money and is much better suited for traveling.

If you're not going to tow it around, just get a cabin / cottage built.

These little houses seem more like a gimmick or a toy than a practical alternative for a place to live. You can build a small cabin a lot cheaper and be able to have things like well water or an indoor sewage system. And as far as being mobile, there's a gadzillion trailers out there that are lighter and much easier to tow. Like a lot of impractical things, these little house are probably perfect for hipsters who want to look cool.
