And for me, it's just a hassle to try and manage a lot of unnecessary cloth (for a head band, for a neck tie around, for a neck and shoulder shroud heat deflector, tie up a few items like a tool kit or cook kit or knife or gun n xtra mag, etc.)
Shemagh is a good concept but it is stifling and builds up heat unnecessarily in southern Az desert summers.
I wear a bandana all year round sun and rain, hot, cold or wind. One for neck cover and one for a head cover. Keeps sweat out of my eyes and dust and tree litter off my hair or falling on the back if my shirt. One around my neck can be used as facemask bandit style.
Lots of uses and can fold up small to fit in pant pockets
