I'm planning a trip out to Las Vegas. I will be riding my motorcycle from Central IL to there. My route consists of no highways. I have an ADV bike so I am not terribly concerned about any potential off-road. As far as gear goes, I am covered, that is what /o/ is for. I plan for a 4 day ride. Camping off the side of the road once I get past MO.

I come here for advice on the camping part of this trip. My camping experience is backpacking/primitive camping through Shawnee National Forest, and a few days worth in both West Virginia and North Carolina. I deployed to Afghanistan for 6 months as well, so I am not unfamiliar with the desert. I have done my own research about camping there regardless.

Has anyone here done what I am about to do? Any advice?
