Did some hiking last weekend, absolutely beautiful weather, mid 60s with a breeze. Had to cross some creeks but was pretty nice. Any anons know some good hiking spots in Eastern PA? I want to go hiking more often as I am going to buy some gear

Thunder Swamp Trail is pretty legit on the east side of the state. French Creek State Park is nice but usually busy.

The Appalachian Trail runs right thru Pennsylvania. If you're new to hiking the AT is a good place to start. It's a very social trail and you'll learn a lot in short time talking with others. Pennsylvania is actually the only state I have left to complete the AT. Hoping to get down there soon.

Eastern PA anon here. I live in Bucks County and hike around SEPA and the Poconos. You’d probabaly like the Pinnacle and Pulpit Trail. Always looks crowded but the trail is so long that you never really notice. I’d say check that out.

Okay I'll bite. It's not simply about walking. What if it's dusk and you're soaking wet, it's cold, it's raining and you're above treeline? Wouldn't it be good to learn from more experienced hikers what to do in this situation to avoid injury, being air-lifted off the mountain, or even death. There's a lot more to spending multiple days/weeks/months than just knowing how to walk.
