>>2058789Yeah I use a bladder then I fill it to the top with ice cubes, then I fill it 2/3 with water, then to the top again with ice cubes, then a bit more water.
Filling it this way means I can refill the bladders with water 2-3 times over and still have ice-cold water.
I bring 2, 3 liter bladders with me and if I am going to be out the whole day in warmer weather I bring 1-2 vacuum chamber water bottles that I have (87 oz each), but you probably don't need that big if you aren't a water-hound like I am. You can fill a vacuum water bottle with a little ice and mostly water and it will last the day without melting to refill you up once you are done with your hike.
I just get generic bladders, you don't need to pay for Camelbak branded stuff. I have aquatic way bladder packs, and buzio branded vacuum water bottles. Oddly, I DO use the camelbak branded "big bite" mouthpieces as I find they allow me to guzzle down more water at once.
I also stay at airbnbs with FREEZERS and I buy bags of ice at gas stations on the road.
As I said earlier, cotton is great, just bring a couple of spare shirts and some paper towels to mop up your sweat.
