Is there any ideas or recipes for cooking with next to no equipments?
I was thinking of potato wrapped in tinfoil and cook it in a fire pit.
Any other suggestions?

Well the potato wrapped in foil is just one of many options. Corn, eggplant, sweet potato, fish or anything else you can think of that gets cooked in an oven. If you're lacking tinfoil then banana leaves can work if you're in a tropical climate. For butternut you can put it on directly and just scoop out the flesh. For meat you can just strip the bark off a stick and skewer it above the flames but can also be wrapped in banana leaves and cooked in a pit, such as Barbacoa. For fish and even oats, you can soak them in citrus juice if available. Oats take a while but they do "cook".

to add something constructive: onions cook really well on the fire just leave the skin on and place them in a bed of embers and wait til the outside is blackened
or skin them quarter them with a little oil and salt, wrap them in foil and toss them in the fire

Anon you can get a compact cooking pot and chinkshit canister stove for less than $20, and then bring your own cutlery from home.
Hell i've seen people bring cooking pots from home before, it's not as compact but it works

Why? Can't you get an old pot out of a second hand stuff shop?
Even new, small aluminium pots are a couple of dollars. Same with small fry pans.
Get a cheap chink canister stove, they cost less than $10 (I have 3, price: $6.5, $7 and $5.5, shipping included, all bought within the last two years)
Learn how to refill the canisters with butane. So you can buy one of the threaded canisters and reuse it 10-20 times depending on how lucky you feel like.
Get a set of those cheap chink lightweight pots like they use on Yuru Camp, if you look around you can get a set for less than $10. They're thin but they'll be usable, just never put them on fire while empty.

I was considering eating canned meat, but I'm not sure if it's safe to heat the container or how to heat it with the flames going around it.

I found myself going to an area with great camping/hiking and rich in archiological ruins and I thought it would be ashamed to miss such an opportunity.

Damn, were none of you fags ever in Cub Scouts? (OP), search for “hobo dinners” or something on Google. You place everything into a foil packet (meat, vegetables, potatoes, whatever) and cook it over coals. Great for car camping since there’s no clean up, and there’s a gimmick to it that kids love.
