>>2062032Make sure your sleeping bags are rated for the appropriate temperature. Normal sleeping bags won't hold your heat well enough to be comfortable. Put a blanket or two beneath your bag as well, not only insulates but evens the ground you lay on. Position your head uphill if you're sleeping on a slope. Put a bottle of warmed water near your feet in the bag, 1.) for added heat in the bag; 2.) to keep that bottle liquid in case you get thirsty at night
If it's below freezing, you may have to dry wood before putting it in the fire. Position logs near the fire but not close enough to catch flame, it'll dry them out really well. Pine needles work fantastic for starting fires.
If the temps are just below freezing you'll have a great time regardless, just be careful if they're well below. Stay safe and have a good time.
