the first time i grew sunflowers i seriously underestimated the amount of space/light they need. those sumbitches just die like flies if they get anyhting less than 12h/day unobstructed sunlight. as such, they are kinda space consuming, but after they grow a bit i guess you can grow beans by them.
never roasted them, just grew them for variety/looks/chicken feed (and sneed)
