>>2070152Not on purpose much but definitely sometimes by accident. Red line on alltrails is .gpx line to follow, blue dot is you. Blue dot somewhere near red line, you are ok. Wayyyyy easier than triangulating like a NERD.
I think most time I spent was maybe 30 min hiking off trail got turned around in pa game lands I think. Was perfectly enjoyable, but I'm happy to be able to see where the trail IS in relation to me even if I'm not on it.

Your phone has built in, no cell service needed gps.

ive been on plenty of confusing trails where alltrails was helpful
you dont HAVE to follow a trail you can just use alltrails to display an area map and your position.
It's not about the map as much as marking where your car is and your current position relationally.
