>>207417Most post-2endary education leaves the person in debt for 40k+. And for degrees(which i think everyone would advise against now, right?), its typically over 100k.
Its shitty, but the reality of the world is, in a *LOT* of developed worlds, your best case scenario, being a young adult in 2013, is to accept that you're going to have a shitty, lower-middle class life. Most education, outside of apprenticeships, is a rubber stamp you need to compete in a significantly more cut-throat world than any other generation has dealt with.
Basically, you learn less now, than you would 20 years ago(inspite of technology making disseminating information easier than ever) while paying 8x as much... And all to go into a job market that is beyond capacity with any half-decent jobs being outsourced.
Unless you're a legacy kid, or have a passion for a trade that isnt stocked full of union favorites*, you're gonna have a shitty time.
*Not faulting unions or their members either. If we didnt obliterate most of the unions over the past 30 years, we'd have a lot more secure jobs that wouldnt have to be dolled out to known supporters by labor organization groups.
Sage'd cause its not really about /out/ though.
