>>207366I agree with Enchanted Rock. I've done primitive camping at several state parks and I have to say it's the best so far. My only complaint is that there are no groundfires permitted in any state park except for the parks on the coast. I still build a fire anytime I go out, but the principle still bothers me. BUT you can have fires in the National Forests in Eastern Texas. But they're all kinds of jacked up from the wildfires a few years ago.
Also, I recommend the State Parks Pass. It's $70 for 1 year and each time you visit the park, you and everyone in your vehicle gets in without paying daily admission.
