I specifically thought a bivy would be better for the mountains (it was literally invented for mountaineers, bivouac) because a (normal) tent can't take the high winds that might come or you can't set it up in the typical small amounts of flat space you find between rocks.

I figured if your nose and mouth are outside of the bivy it won't make that big of a difference than sleeping in a tent, but I may be wrong.
