Any suggestions for what steel to get a Bark River Aurora in? After 10 years my beloved Helle scandi-ground knife broke and I'm wanting to buy a convex knife. I've heard that the Bark River Aurora is a very good knife, but I don't know what steel is best. From what I can see there are ones in A-2, CPM 3V, and Cru-Wear.
If it helps, I don't do batonning (is that what it's called?) with knives, I only use it to carve wood and for utility. With my Casström knife I just used a hatchet and folding saw to process wood, so I would prefer the steel be better at holding an edge rather than having good impact-resistance.
Thanks in advance!
