>>2087010Your experience will probably differ from mine a lot.
I work at a small plant in a small town, that has been neglected for years and it gives us frustrating problems.
We also tend to all the sewage infrastructure, so when "shitter gets clogged" we unleash a motherfucking wheeled monster with lots of cool toys on it, and unclog the pipes with super high preasure tube that has jet-like Buttplug 9000 at the end (pic related).
Sometimes shifts are lazy and I only have to do regular maintnance and chcecks, and feel like Im cheeting and getting paid for nothing, especially since I get to sleep a few hours at night (I do 24 or 48h shifts). But sometimes shit gets fucked and you have go into the town and fix something, you'll be ok if you dont mind getting soaked in the rain because a pipe or pump broke and you have to start fixing it within 3 hours, thats the law. Winter was hell because -20C fucked up a lot of things for us.
Hygiene is vital and its easy to get lazy and skip some bits, dont do that. Every time I get back from The Shit, I wash hands with alcohol and then with soap and brush, despite wearing gloves etc. You will want to get a hand care cream.
Its the little things that are important, like dont touch your headlight with bare hands until you clean it, dot touch knobs or keys with shit-gloves, etc.
Worse parts arent the rain and snow though, its when you have to clean pipes or some other stuff and are in contact with raw sewage. You will start hating condoms if you dont already, this crap clings to everything and looks super nasty.
The smell, actually, isnt that bad.
Have fun.
