I love looking at topo maps and exploring the local area, finding new paths through the hills, exploring there after getting close with my car. I like to use GMaps Terrain View. They also added a dark mode in the app which is sort of neat.

There's also Gnome Maps (if you like free stuff) and I have OSMAND. Neither of which are as polished as gmaps but OSMAND definitely is more powerful.

Weatherspark and Ventusky interactive map view has a nice topo view built-in too.
