Once even ran into a momma and 2 cubs maybe a mile and a half from my campsite.
Sometimes I even remember bear spray. But most of the time I subconsciously think if I hang a bear bag and dont go looking for trouble I'm fine. I say subconsciously because the fear literally doesn't occur to me. Even when securing my food im trying to keep the damn squirrels and mice out of it more than anything.
