OP, that said, adding a small tarp would make a very versatile combo. And I would suggest that unless you have a very specific use-case for a more heavily built one, one with extra poles, I'd lean on choosing a very simple light-weight bivy. Possibly a bug bivy to pair with a tarp if that's a possible option.
