>>211226>>211228in my experience you dont get tics when you expect it. its always at a barbecue or someshit. i always check myself anyways. also, even if your 'new to going outside' you should still have gotten a tic. ive never had a tic bite me camping.
you always say to yourself 'oh dont worry, ill feel them crawling on me long before they bite me' but you dont. i had one bit the underside of my peep once. and now i am super duper paranoid because it is not an experience i am eager to repeat.
as the other anon said though, just check yourself and dont really worry about it. the biggest thing is if you are bothered by it, jsut ask a friend to pull it out, because you dont want to leave the head in the bit. i freak out from tics and spiders (but i love being outside, go figure) and my friend had one on his knee where he couldnt really see it, and i was freaking out and couldnt get a good grip through his leg hair, so a third friend had to pull it out.
call me a wimp, whatever, but as long as you check yourself once or twice a day, you should be fine. also, i recommend tweezers.
