Simply put I have a one way plane ticket, bought and paid for, to Vienna. That's it, no other plans whatsoever.
How retarded would it be to fly there and then upon arrival start hiking my way back home? Google maps says it would be around 2500km, which I could do in under 100 days. I would chose a different route than pic related, trying to move it towards lesser traveled roads and more /out/ than highway walking.

I have the gear, the fitness, the experience and the time necessary to do this. I would start on the beginning of July.
