when i was a kid (9-11 years old), i would leave the house at night after my parents were in bed, and roam around for a few hours. it was during the summer when temps at night were in the mid to high 70s. i'd dropped into a ditch or hide behind a tree if i saw headlights. never came across anyone or got caught. i slowly acquired some equipment by lying about what i wanted it for. i looked like black noir from the boys. lol
i stopped doing it when i realized there's really nothing to do beyond practicing stealth (which is pretty thrilling honestly) unless you want to do criminal stuff. voyeurism crossed my mind, but i've never been interested in what people are doing, even if it's sex. i have basically zero interest in other people, but i do like reading things they write
that said, not having to deal with sunscreen, heat, seeing other people, etc. was pleasant
there was that hermit guy who would sneak out at night and raid camp sites for food and supplies. he could have avoided capture if he'd fucking worn a mask and randomized his stealing. he kept hitting up the same places over and over. a person could get into some real shit if they were smart about it. pretty fun to think about
