I highly recommend these socks.

I bought them after reading a merino sock thread,

these are by far the best socks i've ever owned. very soft and for $12 for 4 pair it is a deal. I was looking online at smartwool @~$20 a pair online

Saw this at costco. had to buy.

They are so cheap for a reason. I generally buy my socks from surplus stores in the "cosmeticly flawed" section, because who the fuck cares what they look like, they are fucking socks...for about $4 a pair. About a year ago, I bought four pair there. Three months later, I bought a pack of these costco socks. So...nine months ago?

ALL of the surplus socks are going strong.
All but one of the pairs of costco socks have worn holes in the heals.

Sure, for the price, six-nine months isn't a bad lifespan for socks. But don't get them on the OP's statement they are "the best socks he's owned". These socks are low quality crap. I've had COTTON that lasted longer.

I normally buy cotton socks from department stores. I have some cotton socks that are probably nearing 10 years without holes in them.

I guess I do buy REALLY shitty socks, I don't spend $10+ a pair. I pay like $20 for 10 pairs.

I've never had a problem getting holes in socks, only in the toes sometimes.

I haven't got any military surplus socks but I do have some of those shitty knee high wool socks, about 20 years old, itchy as a motherfucker. but warm was fuck and no holes

thats what I don't like about wool, and that is what I like about these socks
