Hell, only the other day it hit me that just a few basic items recommended as part of hiking essentials, heavily overlap with what you see found in the cars of serial killers. bushknife + paracord + work gloves = weapon + rope + killers gloves. Not to mention where they tend to go to hide the bodies...
