>>209814Well I just happen to have some experience in this. I was born and raised in Eastern Washington, and moved to the UK with the help of some extended family 8 years ago. I've done quite a bit of travel around the rest of Europe also.
Here are the issues, starting with the UK...
1. No vast expanse of wilderness. I live in the more rural/innawoods part of England, and there is nowhere you can't walk in and out of within 20 minutes bar the wind-swept moonscapes of Scotland. Even then, wild camping is prohibited except in...you guessed in, the wind-swept moonscapes of Scotland. Of course you could stealth-camp, but you'd no doubt be found by the local ramblers, ratted out to the authorities, and then the local area would be alerted to strange foreigners camping illegally. National Parks...nope, Woodland Trust, protected old-growth forest that you will not be allowed to camp on, protected by a warden.
2. Cost. Everything is expensive, from gasoline, beer, to food. Also, at MANY borders they will not allow you to enter their country without proof that you will be able to support yourself during your stay there as not to burden them. In fact, that's a common theme pretty much anywhere in the world.
3. Language. You can't ask for spare change/help/handouts. You will appear no different to them than a Romania-gypsy, and will likely be kicked out of wherever you go/beaten.
In short, no, you will not succeed travelling around Europe without any money or food, you will go crying to your Embassy within 1 week of attempting it.
You could however...look into getting a job/work-visa and working your way around Europe picking fruits and vegetables or doing bar-work.
