Probably the basics of farming, management (ranch, land, house, men, animals), self defense, foraging, cattle rearing, horse rearing, mechanics, business (you want to make so e money after all), politics... I think this is what they mean when they say it's a lifestyle. I am just spitballing, too. I have never been a "cowboy" or rancher. I am sure there is a lot that goes into it and real ones will see from the small details that you're green. Walk into a bar after a day of work and they'll eye you down.
