The last bit is steep, but not that bad.
I was at the canyoun last Aug. talking to some volunteers that check on the Corridor hikers to see how they're doing, check thier water, pass out raisins and such.
People start these hikes and have NO CLUE what it takes to get back out!
I remember a German tourist back in '86 that had to be helo'd out from the 3 mile house on Bright Angel, a simple day hike to Indian Gardens, right? Barely made the bottom of the switchbacks and turned around, only made it to 3 mile house and passed out.
He had donated blood in PHX the day before for gas money!
There are many ways to see the Canyon, a private helo tour paid for by taxpayers is just another way!
