>>2101561nah i meant more that we don't have giant highrises, massive production facilities and that our local economy is more rural based. yes, if you want to be a pedantic dick obviously production is responsible for the american way of life and you need the academic definition of industrialized america to produce this, but my discomfort is aimed entirely at the lifestyle of big cities. big cities are the logical extension of having production plants produce my canned beans, tshirts and car parts (not that any of that is made in the US anymore but ill cede that as an aside), but that doesn't mean that huge office buildings, high rise tenements and over crowded roads built off of the fiat system that is the modern result of a totally out of control speculatively based market is
a) good for everyone on a psychological level or
b) aesthetically pleasing
basically the fact that that i was born in an era where i rely on machinery doesn't excuse the fact that cities are an existential nightmare of people trying to claw their way up, sacrificing their quality of life for the dollar, and your smug psuedo-intellectual would-be superiority doesn't change that. cities are ugly, dangerous and unhealthy so i don't like them. it's that simple. the founding of nations are built on bloodshed and expansionism but i have no desire to join an invading military even though i live in an established society.
