definitely, i routinely find bite marks in amanita caps. squirrels, deer and slugs love them. ive never seen any peculiar behaviour from animals though. even my own experiences were just of a very clear calm mental state with a boost of physical energy. amanita is useful for playing drums

Gotta love D. Arora. I've parboiled and eaten many muscaria. They're pretty tasty, actually. There's a great recipe for mushroom "ceviche" in Chad Hyatt's cookbook using primarily A. muscaria.

Hollow stem = morel
You can eat morels. I recommend sauteed with bacon. Picture is blurry but looks like a morel.

I LOVE morels, but they don't grow around here; I've only eaten dried ones I have to rehydrate before cooking.

I've been doing my part though; every time I wash them off before cooking, I pour the water outside in hopes that some spores will take.

Keep your eyes open for any and all fungi. If you're looking for edible mushrooms, all you'll find is inedible mushrooms. All fungus is worth getting excited about, not just the ones that taste good. Good luck anon and most importantly, have fun.

I collected coccora once, but it scared the crap out of me so I ended up not eating it. It was definitely the right mushroom, growing under the correct tree and identical to the guide books in every way. Chanterelles came up under the same tree the next year, I ate those without hesitation.
