>spring
>Getting nice out
>Air still dry
>Get my small tent, blankets and bag
>Pack up my 4.5" reflector, heavy mounting tripod
>Drive 3 hours to area with nice dark skies, pitch and set up for a long weekend of stargazing
>Do this all the time, secluded state park no one goes to because it doesn't have bathrooms
>Head out this year
>Set up tent and telescope, late afternoon arrival
>Next day, Friday
>Trying to sleep during the day, to stay up at night
>Woken up by steady increasing noise of cars driving down gravel road a ways away
>Blasting music on car stereo
>Still pretty far off, I'm parked pretty much next to my camp down a tiny tiny dirt path
>Wake up late afternoon, sun going down
>There are 2 other cars in the big clearing I'm set up in
>Kids running around howling
>Blinding lanterns and car headlights on
>They all built immense fires, endless sounds of chatter and rattling beer cans
>1am, these retards have their headlights and lanterns on still
>Glare from the lights and smoke from campfires (burning green pine) fucking up my viewing
>Tfw the next 2 days these two groups of retards stay up until 2-3 am making as much light pollution as possible, going to bed with campfires lit, beer cans all over
>tfw left a day early.
I hate people. I have all the gear I need for camping down to -10c, I should just do my stargazing in February.
