>>2107397This probably isn't /out/'s style but the issued Bates combat/jungle boots are actually pretty good for what they are if you can score a pair in the $70-90 range. I had buddies with Danners that they said were incredible reliable and comfortable if not very heavy. I was in the reserves and both pair lasted me 6 years of bullshit field stuff and only just now (a few years later) are dying. My jungles were so broken in that even when 1" tears developed in the sides (by the end of the lacing, just short of the toes) they were still reasonably comfy. I'm thinking of picking up another pair because if I actually took decent care of them and wasn't forced to abuse them in the field I'm sure they'd have lasted longer.
Or some ultralight $250 neon swedish shit, whatever, I'm, just saying not to discount GI style stuff if you find it cheap enough NIB
