>>2114938I carry a Garmin GPSmap 60Cx with me when I go /out/. It has the whole countrys up to date topographic map, but I mainly use it for just tracking the route that I had gone. For navigating I use a Suunto A-30 compass with a topographic map of the area, that is mainly because I want to keep on practicing the use of paper maps. Nowadays people rely too much on navigation softwares and such in my opinion. I usually print out freebie maps, then place them in a see trough document envelopes(folders?) because I am a cheapskate student. I'd want to find a Suunto compass with mils instead of degrees because then I could use it at military rehearsals, the issued compasses we get are awfull.
>>2115416I hate using a touch screen device in rain, dedicated GPS units with real physical buttons are a way better, also their batteries last a lot longer and their screens are easier to look at in bright daylight.
>>2115131>pace beadsHow are you supposed to use them? I have never encountered anyone with them in Finland.
