I want to build some real /out/ skills, namely bushcraft and foraging. I'm not a total stranger to the outdoors (I spend my summers treeplanting, and I go camping once in a while).

But I've only read books about bushcraft/foraging, and haven't ever done it myself. I feel like some things are better taught/shown in person, and I wish I had some guidance in that respect.

I don't have any elders or friends with /out/ skills. My grandparents back in the motherland are expert mushroom pickers but that's about it. I'd even just like to learn how to fish, but I don't know where to start.

If you have any solid /out/ skills, how did you pick them up?
