>>2117259That board does seem predisposed to urban biking, I suppose it's more in keeping with the transportation theme, along with being a general dick being in keeping with urban existence.
I have ridden at one park on a rental bike, but this one only sees long chunky trail days. Enduro but with climbs that are actually hard. I've been hitting 5k feet of climbing more often than not which feels real good to achieve up at 8,000+ above sea level. It would be a good park bike though. Maybe this year.
I love the bottom bracket area on the new Santa Cruzes. So beefy. They all look like they could possibly be e-bikes. I love the monocolor on yours.
With regards to hiker purists complaining about MTB - fuck 'em. The MTB and dirtbike crews around here put in more trails, more maintenance, and more sustenance work than anyone. I don't miss the Midwest where there were constantly trail conflicts. We get along with the hikers and equestrians and brapp machines just fine round these parts.
What's your general region? Central CO Rockies here. Heading to the PNW soon.
>>2117270For hard dangerous features. sharp drops, chattery corners, and stupid jumps. I cut my teeth on rigid single speed bikes for ten years. I did enduro trails in the PNW on a short wheelbase bike packing hardtail all last summer. They have a place and I ride a rigid fat bike for shits, but long travel suspension bikes are an absolute blast on what they're meant to ride. Absolutely no comparison.
