I ran into two pretty big black bears today while on a hike in the canadian east coast forest. I was walking down a trail when I heard rustling in the adjacent woods and two black bears were within 40-50 feet of me. We both noticed each other but I immediately turned around and start walking the other way while checking over my shoulder. I did have a homemade spear and knife, but I guess my question is: What would have happened if I tried to fight them, would they have teamed up together and mauled me to death? not gonna lie, they struck fear into my heart for a second.
