Honestly what were they thinking? I got a pair of these shoes to replace an older pair of Lone Peaks that I have had for a long time. I heard that the new Lone Peaks, according to the CEO, are made for "outdoors and going to the diner after hiking." Anyway I was kinda confused by that and just ignored his comment and ordered a pair of the new Lone Peaks and got them in the mail today. The new Lone Peaks feel more like an casual shoe and feel VERY flimsy in comparison to the earlier Lone Peaks. And there is no gaiter trap and very poor ankle support which is the primary reason of ordering a traditional hiking boot. I don't see how this shoe will appeal to anyone? It's not like a regular hiking boot and too "outdoor" looking for a casual shoe. Maybe it's just me, but honestly what were they thinking in making this shoe.
